Emily's Gift Scholarship For CPAN/CAPA Certification

Emily’s Gift is offered by CSPAN President Dorothy Fox in memory of her mother who was proud of her daughter’s commitment to the peri-anesthesia profession.

Purpose: To aid a Connecticut peri-anesthesia nurse in their commitment to increase their knowledge of the art of peri-anesthesia nursing by becoming certified.

Award: $250.00 scholarship

Eligibility: CSPAN members who meet the following criteria are eligible for the scholarship.

  • Must be a CSPAN/ASPAN member
  • Must hold a current CT license as a Registered Nurse
  • Must be employed in Phase I or Phase II peri-anesthesia setting
  • Only members not reimbursed by employers

Selection:

  • CSPAN Board of Directors will review and evaluate all applications.
  • Gift recipient will be notified by mail/email.
  • Emily’s Gift is for initial CPAN/CAPA certification only.
  • The name of the recipient will be published in the Stretcher Scene
  • Only one gift will be awarded per calendar year.

Application Process:

  • Complete and sign application form. Attach a photocopy of current CSPAN/ASPAN membership cards.
  • Submit a brief statement regarding your professional background and what holding a CPAN/CAPA certification means to you.
  • Mail to Immediate Past-President of CSPAN – name and address can be found in The Stretcher Scene.
